5 Tips for Free Tours to Explore the Triple Frontier

Meeting point of several natural beauties, Foz do Iguaçu attracts people from all over the world. A Land of the Falls it has everything to captivate its tourists from the first moment.

But, don't think that the city is limited only to the beautiful Iguaçu Falls, Parque das Aves and Itaipu Binacional. The attractions go much further – including crossing the border and exploring the neighboring countries of Argentina and Paraguay! And the best: many of them are free!

1 – Buddhist temple

What to do in Foz do Iguaçu: Buddhist Temple

Did you know that the second largest Buddhist temple in Latin America are you in Foz?

Built in 1996 by Chinese communities from the Triple Border, the temple has a privileged view, in addition to more than 120 statues over 2 meters tall – all have their own meaning and face the sunset.

2 – Guarani Forest

Located very close to Hotel Del Rey, O Guarani Forest It is a great place to enjoy nature. The zoo has more than 120 animals, including birds, reptiles and mammals.

It is worth highlighting the treatment received by the animals: food decorated in different formats, fruit popsicles and games to exercise the hunting instinct are among the continuous measures of the Environmental Enrichment Program developed by the institution.

At Fridays, a fair is held in front of the entrance to the forest. It is possible to find several gastronomic options, local handicrafts and much more.

3 – Omar Ibn Al-Khatab Mosque

Between the free tours in Foz and region, Another option that draws attention due to its architecture is the islamic mosque. They are more than 15 meters high, with visits open to the general public.

For religious reasons, everyone who chooses to take this tour needs to leave their shoes at the entrance to the temple. Female visitors are also provided with a veil to cover their hair and shoulders.

4 – Mezquita Del Este

As in Foz, Ciudad Del Este also has its own mosque. Opened in 2015, the del east mosque it is considered one of the largest in South America. Altogether, it is 18 meters high in the central part, also containing two lateral towers of 35 meters each.

The prayer space has two floors: the main one for men, which houses about 450 to 500 people; and also a space on the second floor, which holds around 150 people, exclusively for women.

5 – Marco das Três Fronteiras and Feirinha in Puerto Iguazú

At the end of Costanera Avenue, you will find the Landmark of the Three Borders on the Argentine side. In addition to being able to enjoy a beautiful sunset, it is possible to walk along the boardwalk and take the children to enjoy the playgrounds and also cool off with the fountains near the obelisk.

Afterwards, how about getting to know the puerto iguazu fair? Countless stalls offer the most varied options of Argentine delicacies, such as dulce de leche, cheeses, olives, chocolates, wines and alfajores. Also take the opportunity to taste the famous argentinian empanadas.
