Security Protocols
The manager of the Iguazú National Park, Sergio Acosta, said that they are working on a protocol together with the companies that have a concession in the Falls and that the unified document will be taken to the Ministry of the Environment and the Ministry of Health for approval.
The protocol will be ready even before the reopening and includes actions such as limiting the number of visitors and selling tickets online, along with the security measures already defined by the Argentine government, such as the mandatory use of a mask, gloves, closed shoes and long clothes.
Visitors Limit
During the first phase of reopening, the Iguazu Falls in Argentina will only be able to receive the number of two thousand visitors per day. In the second phase, this number may double, however, it all depends on how tourists and the local team adapt to the biosafety protocol.
Security control includes basic actions such as social distancing and hygiene. The temperature of all visitors will be checked at the entrance to the Park and if someone has 37.5°C or other symptoms that indicate possible contamination, the visitor will not be allowed to enter. In addition, all visitors will be required to sign a health record.
At the time, this opening is planned only for local residents of the province, remaining closed to foreign tourists due to the pandemic. This is a measure taken by the Argentine government to prevent coronavirus outbreaks in the region.
National Alternative
For Brazilian tourists, entry at the Argentine border does not yet have a return date. But the city of Foz do Iguacu has alternatives for those who cannot visit the side brother from the Park.
