When talking about Paraguay, the first thing that comes to mind is shopping. Ciudad del Este is already well known for its shopping centre, but what few people know is that there are tourist attractions in paraguay amazing to visit! 

The commercial area of Ciudad del Este can give the wrong impression of disorganization, but this idea is soon forgotten further on, where you can find a city with museums, churches, parks and many green areas. Monday heels

One of the most beautiful tourist spots in Paraguay, the Monday heels they are known as the “Paraguay Falls”, since they are formed by three large falls of 40 meters in height.

The falls are inside the Municipal Park Saltos del Monday, which also has trails, zip lining and several other activities to enjoy nature a lot. It's a great alternative to spend a quiet afternoon with the family. 

City Tour in Ciudad del Este

Taking the city tour is an option for those who don't have much time available and want to know the main points and a little bit of the city's history. The tour is done in a panoramic bus and a bilingual guide talks about the city's history and curiosities. 

The tour lasts 2h30 and stops at Catedral San Blas, Lago de la República, Church of San Lucas, Saltos del Monday and Chiperia Mi Abuela, in addition to passing through other places in Ciudad del Este.

The Al-Khulafa Al-Rashidin Mosque is one of the largest in Latin America and was inaugurated in 2016. Built with materials from Saudi Arabia and China, the temple has capacity for more than 500 people and is one of the tourist attractions of Ciudad Del This, in Paraguay, most wanted.

The architecture of the place is impressive: an 18-meter dome with two 35-meter-high towers can be seen from afar on the border. To enter the mosque you must be barefoot, and women must wear veils to hide their shoulders and hair in respect of the local tradition. 

Itaipu Binacional

Everyone knows the Itaipu Power Plant in Foz do Iguaçu, but few know that it is divided between Brazil and Paraguay.

The Paraguayan side of the plant is in Hernandarias, 14 km from the Ponte da Amizade, and also has a tourist complex with attractions for visitors. The main ones are the panoramic tour, the Tatí Yupí Biological Refuge, the Tierra Guaraní Museum and the Monumental Iluminación (Itaipu illuminated).
