At the Special Itaipu, visitors have much more complete access to the interior structure of the Itaipu Hydroelectric Power Plant, passing through observatories such as the rotor of one of the energy generating units and the central control room of the plant, for example.

The minimum age to take this tour is 14 years old and all participants are required to wear closed-toe, flat shoes and clothing that is below the knee. The visit lasts 2h30 and needs to be scheduled in advance.

Itaipu Ecomuseum

Can be done in about 1 hour, the tour at the Ecomuseum of Itaipu it has an interactive collection and also shows the history of the plant with photographs, pieces and objects from the time when Itaipu was built.

The museum also has a model of 76 square meters that recreates the border region between Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina.
