USA exempts Iguazu Falls from tourist attractions to avoid when traveling

Good news! The US government exempts the Iguazu Falls from risk to visits along with other beauties of our country.

In a statement, USA exempts Iguaçu Falls and also says that the recommendation does not apply to the Pantanal, in Mato Grosso do Sul and Mato Grosso

Did you know? The Iguaçu Falls were left out of a statement issued by the United States government, which recommends that the population itself avoid travel to Brazil, due to the pandemic generated by the new coronavirus.

Part of the statement specifies that “travelers to Brazil may experience border closures, airport closures, travel bans, stay-at-home orders, business closures and other emergency conditions within the country due to Covid-19.”

It is worth mentioning that, in addition to the Iguaçu National Park, the US government note also explains that the recommendation does not apply to the Pantanal, located in the states of Mato Grosso do Sul and Mato Grosso.

Safety first

Reopened since the last August 4th and with public visitation gradually, the Iguaçu National Park seeks to follow all the protocols of the World Health Organization, the Ministry of Health and, in particular, Municipal Decree 28.337, of 22/ 7/2020, which establishes all sanitary control procedures.

Considering the current scenario, the direction of the Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation (ICMBio), the entity that manages the National Park, authorized the reopening from Tuesday to Sunday, from 9 am to 4 pm. The reduction in opening hours aims to align protective measures with the safety of each visitor.

Iguacu National Park

The place that hosts the Iguaçu Falls, an attraction that has hundreds of falls of different sizes, is also one of those responsible for the location of the famous Devil's Throat, a separate spectacle reserved at the end of the park's trail.
